Lantern is what I’d call a smart-but-dumb-NLP JavaScript framework. It isn’t actually NLP (Natural Language Processing) at all but given enough customization, and under specific contexts, it is capable of some very useful functionality. Run the demo below to play around with it and visit the repository for more.

The short description of the framework is that developers configure data profiles for specific entities or constructs they hope to be able to detect in the text blobs. When the framework matches those patterns, it returns the values in a structured object to be rendered into an experience.
